I learnt a lot, not just how to sucessfully prepare the dishes, but also hints and tips for storing food successfully and shortcuts to minimise preparation time. On top of all that we had a great time and the food was tasty and simple. Pete's style is friendly, clear and very helpful.  Recommended to everyone" Jean

Growing Gourmet - young peoples cooking class:
Age appropriate classes
10-12yr old and 13-15+
Class duration 2 1/2 hours  cost  $75.00

Children of any age like to help in the kitchen. My son Carlos has been assisting me at home in the kitchen learning how to chop and dice our dinner prep from a very early age. One of his first words was "Cooking". With this in mind I have designed cooking classes for young people that will inspire, excite and feed their curiosity as a growing gourmet. The classes will allow them to be creative as well as learning a better understanding of nutrition. They will learn patience and a sense of time management while building a familiarity and willingness to try new foods. The Growing Gourmets will be introduced to cooking vocabulary. They will learn how to safely use kitchen tools and utensils and cooking techniques. They will learn the fundamentals of how to cook healthy nutritional dishes and touch on food safety. Most of all the classes will be an outlet for their creativity and to have FUN!

I am convinced that children given the right environment at an early age will learn how to become a team player, also achieve a feeling of accomplishment, increase their confidence and self esteem.

If you are interested in enrolling your child for a cooking class we are taking expressions of interest and numbers permitting we will hold a class during school holidays and in the New Year. The children’s cooking classes will be divided into age appropriate groups. Suggested age groups 9-12 years and 13 years +

Please email us with age, contact name and phone number and we can get back to you with more information.

Peter is a wonderful teacher, and Growing Gourmets will have fun in the kitchen.... These classes will excite, and inspire children and young people,as well as foster a better understanding of nutrition.

Parents are welcome to accompany their children

Alison Mau, T.V. Presenter: “Peter is the man known for being whisked off on tour by rock goddesses like Madonna and Chrissie Hynde, to cater for their every whim at venues around the globe.”  “When Peter strolls into the teaching theatre, he’s living proof of his own cooking philosophy, - that food should make you look good, as good nutrition generally does.  He’s been described as ‘looking like a personal trainer’ and even hilariously, ‘a Latin dancer’”
